Blue Lace Agate is a naturally occuring soft blue agate, laced with bands or swirls of brighter blue, periwinkle, white and occasionally gray or brown. It is one of the most rare and sought after forms of Agate. Agate is one of many varieties of banded Chalcedony, prized throughout history for its beautiful colors and patterns. It has been discovered with artifacts from cultures of the Neolithic Period, also known as the Stone Age, occuring 10,000 years ago.
